Announcing the marriage of...

Victoria Nicolle Anthony and Matthew Russell Miller!!

Matthew and I met one hot, sticky Saturday morning in August of 2005 at a Civil War reenactment in Waynesboro, PA. Matthew had arrived late Friday night after getting of from work. This was his first reenactment, where as I had been to this exact one a year before.

My very first thought upon seeing him was "Who is this guy and why is he in our camp?!?" The thought only lasted a few seconds though, because shortly after that, a member of our unit, Ben, had introduced him to the group as a friend that he worked with.

Matt and I didn't have much time to talk to each other that day, but I remember discussing with my friend Caitlin how we thought he was Emo. "Doesn't he look like an emo kid?" I remember Caitlin asking. "What the heck is he doing here?"

Later that night, Matt, Ben, a few other people and myself stayed up and played cards for a while. And soon people started to go to bed one by one. Soon it was just Matt and me, and we were talking about where we grew up, sharing childhood memories, and somehow the conversation turned to if the other person wanted kids, did they want to be married, where did tehy want to be married, and where to go on their hooneymoon.

I found it very creepy how we both wanted to just find someone and marry them. Then settle down and have kids. The other thing that was weird was teh fact  that we both wanted to get married in a castle- he wanted to be married in Ireland and stay there for teh Honeymoon; but I wanted to be married here in America and then go to Ireland for the Honeymoon.

Creepy... huh?

Well, we didn't end up hooking up or anything that night, but we did exchange phone numbers and e-mail addreses and promised to tlk to each other soon.

The Monday after the reenactment, I got a call from Matt- and we spent FOREVER on the phone. I think there wasn't a day that I didn't talk to him at least once. He also came down from PA (I lived in Maryland) and picked me up- and that very first time we went on a date, he took me to meet his paretns...lol.. we hadn't even declared we were boyfriend and girlfriend because we were both just comming out of a relationship-ish type of thing and weren't ready for the officiality of saying " your my boy/girlfriend yet- but he took me an hour away to meet his parents. They were great!!

After that He came and picked me up again and again- and most of the time we went to his house- sometimes we went to see a movie or went to the mall (either near me or the one in Hanover, PA). It wasn't until the next reenactment that we made it official. September 16, 2005 we claimed the "dating title".

Nearly a year later, after deciding to move in together, we also decided that we don't want to be woth anyone else in the world except each other- and we got engaged. September 13, 2006 is our engagement date- just 3 days before we had started "dating".

We have tentatively set our wedding dat to September 10, 2008
